Justice Minister receives Iranian Ambassador

On 27 September, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Davit Harutyunyan, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, Seyed Kazem Sadjadi.

Minister Davit Harutyunyan highly appreciated the co-operation between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia and expressed his satisfaction concerning the fact of recent ratification of the concluded Agreement “On Transfer of the Convicts between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran" by the legislative body of Iran, assuring that it will convey new quality to the current co-operation in the legal sector.

The ambassador conveyed the greeting and good wishes of the Minister of Justice of the IRI to the Minister and underlined that the close co-operation mentioned is the outcome of friendly and strong relations between the two countries, to which mutual visits of high-ranking officials of Iran and Armenia contribute.

During the meeting the Minister of Justice and the Ambassador touched upon the issue of transferring the Iranian convicts serving their punishment in the Republic of Armenia to Iran and discussed the opportunity for the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran.
