Public discussion on whistleblowing system introduction held at Justice Ministry

A public discussion on sub-legislative acts deriving from the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Whistleblowing system" took place with the representatives of non-governmental organisations with the participation of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Krmoyan. The event was held within the framework of "Support for implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Armenia" programme implemented jointly with the Government of Great Britain.

Draft sub-legislative acts, particularly draft decisions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia "On approving the technical description of the unified electronic platform for whistleblowing and the procedure for its operation" and "On approving the standard form of registration and formulation of the reports, as well as on establishing the procedure for implementation of remedies provided to the whistleblower in case of internal and external whistleblowing" were discussed during the working meeting.

During the meeting Suren Krmoyan addressed the projects being drafted within the framework of the anti-corruption reforms, reaffirmed willingness of the Ministry of Justice to actively and efficiently co-operate with non-governmental organisations and all the parties interested and noted that such meetings with NGOs will be of continuous nature.

The employees of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia also represented the technical description of the unified electronic platform for whistleblowing to the representatives of the non-governmental organisations and recorded the proposals of the representatives of the civil society.

It should be reminded that "Support for implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Armenia" programme will contribute to efficient implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and will afford an opportunity to introduce sub-legislative regulations deriving from the Law "On protection of whistleblowers", as well as to raise the level of public awareness and awareness among the civil society of the sector of protection of whistleblowers.
