Suren Krmoyan: "The electronic platform for whistle-blowing will contribute to revelation of corruption crimes"

A public discussion on the draft Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia "On approving the technical specifications of the unified electronic platform for whistle-blowing and the procedure for the maintenance thereof" was held today with the participation of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan.

About two dozens of representatives of state and non-governmental organisations attended the meeting.

Greeting the participants, Suren Krmoyan noted that the draft secondary legal act submitted thereto arises from the requirement of the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the System of Whistle-blowing" and will significantly contribute to the revelation of corruption crimes.

During the public discussion, representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan provided the participants of the discussion with more details about the technical specifications of the unified electronic platform for whistle-blowing and the procedure for the maintenance thereof. According to her, the platform will provide the person aware of corruption crimes and violations of other nature with the opportunity to inform thereon the relevant competent state body through internal and external whistle-blowing, as well as select the mode of whistle-blowing with open data and anonymous mode by logging into the electronic platform for whistle-blowing. In case of selecting the anonymous mode of whistle-blowing, the introduced electronic solutions will guarantee the impossibility of disclosing the personal data of a whistle-blower.

Afterwards, a question-and-answer session with regard to the submitted draft was held.
