Probation officers undergo training

On 13 November, the two-week training programme for 25 employees of the State Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia was launched. The training programme is being carried out by the "Centre for Implementation of Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programmes" SNCO of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Greeting the participants, Head of the State Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Navasardyan and Director of the SNCO Ashot Hayrapetyan attached importance to the organisation of such trainings, expressing hope that they would be ongoing and that, as a result, the employees having undergone training and having acquired skills would apply those skills in their work in the future.

The training programme will last 72 hours. The mission, role and vision for development of the State Probation Service, the description of a probation officer, conciliation/mediation, electronic surveillance, the problems that may arise during the application of electronic surveillance, the characteristics thereof, as well as social work with beneficiaries, risks and needs assessment, case management, preparation of a control plan and psychological readiness of probation officers will be touched upon during the seminar/lectures.
