Action Plan arising from National Strategy on Human Rights Protection discussed with non-governmental organisations

On 18 December, a discussion on the recommendations received from non-governmental organisations for reviewing the 2017-2019 Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Co-ordinator of the Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection Vigen Kocharyan.

Deputy Minister Vigen Kocharyan welcomed the active participation of the representatives of state bodies, international and non-governmental organisations and noted that the incorporation of the presented sector-specific recommendations in the Action Plan for 2020 would be considered in the near future, if those recommendations are not incorporated in the Action Plan for 2017-2019.

During the meeting, the recommendations submitted by non-governmental organisations related to the spheres of justice, defence, education and social affairs were considered. The employees of the relevant government agencies also touched upon the progress of the Action Plan for Human Rights Protection, set aside the impact of the Plan according to sectors, as well as discussed issues related to the potential emerging obstacles and the expected challenges.
