Minister of Justice and European Union launching new project

Today, the "Support to legislative approximation processes within the framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA)" Project — financed by the European Union — was launched under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Justice Vigen Kocharyan. Within the framework of the Project, it is expected to analyse the EU legislation included in the CEPA, to conduct a comparative analysis of the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, based on the EU-Armenia CEPA roadmap in order to submit a medium-term Action Plan for implementation of the roadmap, to develop a comprehensive methodology and guideline for the approximation process, conduct trainings for the staffs of the relevant state bodies of the Republic of Armenia, etc.

EU experts who have actively participated in the previous activities for approximation of legislation in EU member states are involved in the Project.

Representatives of the EU Delegation to Armenia and employees of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia participated in the meeting for the launch of the Project.

Deputy Minister Vigen Kocharyan noted that, taking into consideration the importance of this Project from the point of view of assistance to the processes of approximation of domestic legislation stipulated by the CEPA, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia expects the active participation of all interested state bodies in implementation of the actions stipulated by the Project.
