Minister of Justice meets with members of Supreme Judicial Council and Acting Chairperson of the Council

Today, on 10 August, the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia, under the leadership of Acting Chairperson of the Council Gagik Jhangiryan, received Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan. During the meeting, issues regarding reforms in the justice sector were discussed, and the current problems and challenges in the judiciary were touched upon. The parties discussed issues related to the need for radical amendments to the Constitutional Law “Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia”, the digitisation of archives, the improvement of building conditions, the introduction of safeguards for social security of judges and the solutions to problems regarding the pensions of judges. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue similar discussions in the near future in order to provide substantive solutions to the problems.
