The Ministry of Justice, together with the Police, developed the concept of introducing a water patrol service in Lake Sevan and the action plan for its implementation.

According to the plan, in the second semester of 2023, the Gegharkunik Region Patrol Service will already have a team of specialized patrols that will be able to carry out water patrolling.

Water patrol means patrolling on Lake Sevan and its coastal areas, ensuring the safety of the lake itself, as well as the people in its vicinity.

Water patrol will be an additional function of "classic" patrolling. In other words, the patrols included in the specialized patrol team will, as necessary, perform other functions assigned to the Gegharkunik Region Patrol Service in the land sector.

Water patrols will undergo special training, after which they will be able to carry out their service in the area of Lake Sevan.

Deputy Minister of Justice Arpine Sargsyan and Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan spoke in more detail about the water patrol service.
