Acting Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan attended the second big workshop of judges held on 2-4 December in Dilijan at the initiative of the Supreme Judicial Council. This time, 150 judges of the Bankruptcy, Administrative and Civil Courts — from all three instances, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive powers and a dozen officials of the Judicial Department participated in the workshop.

Participants of the workshop discussed and proposed a dozen legislative solutions that will help to make judicial processes more efficient which, in its turn, will help to expedite the trial procedure and unburden judges.

The judges also touched upon the introduction of fair evaluation of their performance, as well as — based on this — the issues of fair promotion and remuneration.

The majority of the participants of the workshop decided to organise performance evaluation of judges every year, which will help to improve the quality of justice.

As a result of the discussions, legislative solutions were proposed with regard to the possibility of introduction of written procedures in the first instance court, payment orders and the unburdening of simplified proceedings, as well as a number of other regulations for making the performance of the judicial power efficient.

The attendees of the workshop expressed willingness to make joint efforts in order to contribute to implementation of the proposals for unburdening of courts and judicial processes through urgent legislative solutions, which will essentially reduce the overload of judges and promote the development and strengthening of the judicial power hinged on rule of law.
