Head of Department of International Legal Cooperation Anahit Abrahamyan presents Ministry's vision on gender equality and women's advancement

Head of the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice Anahit Abrahamyan participated in the opening event of the "Women in Politics, Public Administration and Civil Society" Project funded by the Good Governance Institute of Great Britain. Anahit Abrahamyan presented the Ministry's vision on gender equality and women's advancement. Abrahamyan stated that the Ministry of Justice is the first government agency that has passed through the studies of the Gender Equality Seal, as well as informed that the study on the assessment of "ensuring gender equality in the structural sub-divisions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia" was released within the framework of the "Gender Equality in the Public Administration System of Armenia" Programme implemented by the UNDP. Anahit Abrahamyan also stressed that actions linked to gender equality, domestic violence and violence against women are also envisaged in the Action Plan arising from the 2020-2022 National Strategy for Human Rights Protection. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Armenia John Gallagher, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Natia Natsvlishvili, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan and Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan also delivered their welcoming speeches at the event. Representatives of public administration bodies took part in the event.
