Institute of persons responsible for Anti-Corruption projects introduced

Within the framework of the EU funded Twinning project, the training course on "Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector in Armenia" took place in the Ministry of Justice.

Head of the Department for Anti-Corruption Policy Development and Monitoring Kristine Gabuzyan delivered an opening speech at the training course. Head of the Monitoring Department Hasmik Tigranyan presented the institute of persons responsible for anti-corruption projects introduced as a result of amendments to the Law "On public service".

Within the framework of the discussions, the experts presented their study results on the implementation of the anti-corruption projects by the state bodies, the anti-corruption policy and the monitoring mechanisms and the ways for solving the existing problems, combined with the best European practices.

The representatives of the Ministry of Justice presented the institute of persons responsible for anti-corruption projects, their functions and roles, the main goal of which is to ensure, at the intra-agency level, the co-ordination of activities within the framework of fulfilling the anti-corruption measures and the international sector-specific obligations in state bodies.

The discussion was dedicated to the presentation of the results of the study implemented by the experts of the EU Twinning project.

About 60 representatives from different state bodies participated in the training course.
