Ara Mkrtchyan presents the programmes on legislation of crime prevention and legislative reforms

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan participated in the conference on "European and regional trends in crime prevention practices and reforms and opportunities for Armenia".

Ara Mkrtchyan presented the possible programmes on legislation on crime prevention and legislative reforms, emphasising the systematic approach within the framework of legislative and social, economic, organisational and other overarching measures.

The Deputy Minister also presented the steps already taken by the Ministry in the context of crime prevention for the improvement of legislation, implementation of reforms in penitentiary and probation sectors.

Ara Mkrtchyan concluded his speech by highlighting the importance to study the available international trends from the perspective of crime prevention, to implement them in the Republic of Armenia, to identify the gaps existing in practice and thus, to have a clear roadmap.
