The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption is the only state body with clearly defined mandate implementing corruption prevention through various tools, including through observation of the officials’ decent conduct.

It is this body which monitors that

the property and expenses of officials and their family members correspond to their lawfully received incomes;

private interests of officials are not in conflict with the public interest;

officials are not engaged in activities incompatible with the positions they held and/or forbidden ones;

their behaviour corresponds to the positions they held.

In case of detecting violations and inconsistencies prescribed by law, the CPC is entitled to apply measures of liability and in case of detecting elements of prima facie crime — to send the materials to the Prosecutor General's Office.
