Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan participated in the closing session of the coordinating council of the project "Strengthening institutional capacities to fight and prevent corruption in Armenia"

Karen Karapetyan made an opening speech and emphasized the multi-sectoral cooperation between the EU/CoE-Ministry of Justice. According to the deputy minister, the goal of the program is to support anti-corruption reforms in the country.

Karen Karapetyan emphasized the achievements registered as a result of cooperation within the framework of the program, including the CoE expert support for the 2019-2022 action plan of the RA anti-corruption strategy, the confiscation of property of illegal origin and the legislative reforms in the field of public service.

The course of reforms carried out by the Ministry was also discussed at the session, as a result of which the three-level chain of examination of corruption cases will be completed.

It is planned to introduce a system of continuous, ongoing verification of the integrity of investigators, prosecutors and judges.

For the implementation of the next stages of the project, the Ministry of Justice expects continuous cooperation of the CoE/EU.
