An event was held with the participation of the Ministry of Justice, other agencies of the executive branch of government, the Supreme Judicial Council, and a number of representatives of non-governmental organizations, the purpose of which was to discuss the draft law "On Amendments and Supplements to the Code of Civil Procedure".

The draft was developed by the "Center for Legislation Development" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice. The project derives from the strategic goal of the 2022-2026 strategy of judicial and legal reforms of the Republic of Armenia entitled "Reform of Civil and Civil Procedure Legislation", within which the development of a set of normative legal acts providing for amendments based on the problems identified as a result of the application of the Civil Procedure Code was emphasized.

Adoption of the draft will create additional prerequisites for competition in civil proceedings, procedural economy and realization of the principles of investigation within a reasonable period of time, as well as increasing the efficiency of examination of cases.

The discussion was organized at the initiative of the Supreme Judicial Council and with the support of the Council of Europe's "Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Armenia" program.
