Deputy Minister and Deputy Ambassador of Iran touch upon transfer of convicts and co-operation existing in the judicial and legal sector

Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan received Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Ali Mohammad Motaghi and the Third Class Counsellor Seyed Ali Fallah.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the transfer of convicts and the co-operation existing in the judicial and legal sector and the prospects thereof. Armenuhi Harutyunyan expressed willingness for pursuing — within the competence of the Ministry of Justice — the unimpeded exercise of the rights of convicts and detainees being citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, serving their punishment in the Republic of Armenia.

The Deputy Ambassador highly appreciated the joint effective Armenian-Iranian work carried out up to then in the field of transfer of convicts and expressed hope that in the future, high indicators of co-operation would be recorded as well.

Parties discussed the prospects of further co-operation, outlining new ways of partnership.
