Ministry of Justice records a high rate: the Annual Report on the Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan presented

At the presentation of the alternative public monitoring report of the 2022 annual implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022, Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan stated in his speech that the Ministry of Justice had summed up the annual monitoring and evaluation report of 2022, according to which  significantly high implementation rate of 80.2% was recorded, which  proved the Government's willingness with regard to uncompromising fight against corruption.

In his speech, Karen Karapetyan also presented the Anti-Corruption reforms implemented over the last 4 years, making reference to the establishment of the anti-corruption institutional system, the improvement of legislative regulations aimed at preventing corruption, the review of the scope of corruption-related crimes, the expansion of institutional and legal basis of the integrity system, the improvement of the economic competition protection system, the digitalisation of wide range of public services, the improvement of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms,  strengthening of international co-operation.

During the meeting, special importance was given to the efforts of the alternative public monitoring of the annual implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan. Within the framework of summarising the results of the meeting, it was emphasised that the continuation of anti-corruption reforms would be present within the new Anti-Corruption Strategy. In this context, the role of the civil society in raising problems and improving the existing structures through strategic planning, alternative assessments and other mechanisms had been highlighted. It should be mentioned that the report has been elaborated by the "Armenian Lawyers Association" NGO within the framework of co-operation with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia.
