Minister of Justice introduces newly appointed Head of Probation Service to the staff

Today, Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan introduced the newly appointed Head of the Probation Service Aram Nikoyan to the staff of the Service and the heads of regional bodies.

Grigor Minasyan expressed gratitude to Gevorg Simonyan for the work done, particularly for the efforts made in the process of imposing house arrest and administrative control as measures of restraint. The Minister noted that steps should be taken for clarification of the status of the Probation Service and for improvement of house arrest and administrative control measures of restraint, as well as the building conditions of the Service.

Importance was attached to the vision for proper and timely implementation of the predetermined activities following adoption of the new 2023-2026 Strategy of the Penitentiary Service and Probation Service.

The Minister attached importance to the programmes being implemented with the support of international partners (the European Union, Council of Europe and the U.S. Embassy) and the ensuring of continuity of those programmes.

Grigor Minasyan expressed hope that Aram Nikoyan will invest his managerial skills to implement the programmes of the Probation Service. Aram Nikoyan expressed gratitude for the trust and mentioned that he will make efforts to meet the objectives set forth for him.

Former head of the Service Gevorg Simonyan expressed gratitude for the co-operation and mentioned that the Service has great potential for advancement and betterment.

Grigor Minasyan wished fruitful work for the welfare of the Republic of Armenia.
