Deputy Minister Ara Mkrtchyan attaches importance to steps to build capacities of notaries public for Combating Money-Laundering and Terrorism

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan delivered an opening speech during the training course for employees of the Control Department of the Ministry of Justice and notaries public which was organised within the scope of the 2022-2024 Action Plan for Implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction with the support of the Financial Monitoring Center of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia and held at the Academy of Justice.

The Deputy Minister attached importance to the steps for capacity-building of notaries public in AML/CFT. The training course is targeted at efficient risk management during the notarial actions in the sphere of AML/CFT in the conditions of sharp increase of donation transactions.

During the training course, the trainers will also touch upon the criteria of suspiciousness with regard to the purchase and sale of immovable property, practical examples, as well as the brief analyses of the Report on Suspicious Transactions or Business Relationships received from notaries public with regard to donation transactions. The Head of the Financial Monitoring Center of the Central Bank and the Chairperson of the Notarial Chamber Lilit Muradyan also delivered their opening speeches during the training course.
