Draft aimed at easing workload of pre-trial and judicial bodies has been presented to representatives of interested bodies

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan and Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly Vladimir Vardanyan delivered opening speeches at the working discussion titled "Legislative and institutional perspectives of implementation of the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and their solutions" in Tsaghkadzor.
Deputy Minister Ara Mkrtchyan noted that a few days ago, the National Assembly adopted, in the first reading, the draft law envisaging amendments to the Criminal, Criminal Procedure and Penitentiary Codes, within the framework of which new institutions have already been introduced, i.e. the institutions for imposing fines upon agreement which are targeted at the solution to a number of problems having emerged in practice, ease of the workload of the pre-trial and judicial bodies and more targeted use of public resources. Afterwards, the representatives of the interested bodies presented the issues that they have observed in practice and the possible solutions to those issues.
The discussion was organised at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice and the "Centre for Legislation Development" Foundation by the "Counterpart International" organization within the framework of the program "Support to the Centre for Legislation Development."
