14/12/2023

During the session of the Government, Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan presented the draft Decision of the Government on approval of the Work Procedure for organising and holding of sessions and joint working meetings between the commissions on the demarcation of the state border and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The adoption of the draft is based on the text of the Work Procedure agreed between the commissions on 30 November, according to which the Rules of Procedure must be approved by the Governments of both countries.

The Work Procedure lays down the relationship between the demarcation commissions established by the two states and the procedure for holding sessions and organising joint working meetings.

As a result of adoption of the Work Procedure, the members of the demarcation commissions of the Republic of Armenia and of the Republic of Azerbaijan will have the opportunity to create grounds for the demarcation and delimitation processes through sessions and joint works, for development of the legal and technical aspects in order to further develop and sign a relevant document on the state border between the two states.

The draft was approved by the Government.
