21/02/2024

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan delivered opening remarks during the two-day awareness-raising meetings organised with the participation of representatives of the finance and banking sector for introduction of the electronic system for civil procedure; the procedure for its application; participation in trials through the use of the system; regulations for submission and receipt of procedural documents, as well as notifications; the procedure for appealing judicial acts and a number of other advantages of the system. The Deputy Minister emphasised the importance of the system as the first fully digital court and expressed hope that its operation would significantly ease the workload of the court and, at the same time, would help save time and reduce the costs of both the court and the parties. Director of the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice Tigran Dadunts presented the amendments made to the Civil Procedure Code, which has laid the foundations for the launch of the system. Representatives of banks, credit organisations, payment and settlement organisations and insurance companies attended the two-day meeting. The mechanisms for submitting a statement of claim, other procedural documents, paying a state duty, attaching a piece of evidence, filing a motion through the system and other ways of using the system were presented to the participants. The meetings were organised by "Counterpart International" organisation, on the initiative of the Ministry of Justice and the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation, within the scope of the "Support to the Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research Foundation" Project.
