Potential directions for expanding support of World Bank predetermined: Karen Karapetyan receives mission led by Adrian Fozzard

Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan received the World Bank Governance Global mission led by Practice Manager for the Governance Global Practice in Europe and Central Asia Adrian Fozzard. Karen Karapetyan expressed gratitude to the World Bank for the active support that it has shown to the reforms in the justice sector, and predetermined the potential directions for expanding the support.
The parties discussed the Programme for Standardisation of Courts developed jointly with the World Bank and already submitted to the Public Investments Committee. In this context, the scope of actions established under the Programme was touched upon, according to which it is predetermined to develop uniform standards for court buildings and technical equippedness, to inventorise court buildings, to draft an effective map for locating the court buildings, as well as actions targeted at the capacity-building of the personnel of courts. The parties attached importance to active co-operation with the Supreme Judicial Council within the framework of the Programme under consideration and highlighted the need to implement the Programme as soon as possible.
Incorporating in the Programme the actions with regard to the development of digital tools provided for within the scope of implementation of the anti-corruption policy, was also touched upon. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on further steps for implementation of the Programme, and the potential directions for the World Bank's support to the digitisation agenda of the Ministry of Justice in the area of corruption prevention were predetermined. Advisor to the Minister of Justice Liana Tovmasyan and Director of the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice Tigran Dadunts were also present at the meeting.
