Disciplinary penalty imposed on 17 officers of "Vanadzor" Penitentiary Institution

As a result of an official investigation assigned based on the fact of violations detected after inspection activities carried out at "Vanadzor" Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice, it was established that 17 officers of the Penitentiary Institution holding positions of chief, leading and junior officers committed numerous gross violations of the internal regulations.

By the Decisions of Head of the Penitentiary Service, Colonel of Justice Ambakum Grigoryan, out of the 17 officers, “severe reprimand” disciplinary penalty was imposed on 15 of them, and the “reprimand” disciplinary penalty was imposed on 2 officers.

At the same time, in the course of the official investigation, the mentioned officers explained that the recorded violations were committed with the immediate knowledge of the former Head of the Penitentiary Institution and his deputy. However, taking into consideration the fact that during the official investigation the former Head of the Penitentiary Institution and his deputy were, based on their applications, dismissed from their respective positions, no disciplinary measures were imposed on them.
