European Union Twinning Project supported fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector of the Republic of Armenia — Deputy Minister participated in closing event

Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan delivered an opening speech at the official closing event of the European Union Twinning Project on "Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector of Armenia".
The Deputy Minister greeted the participants and expressed gratitude to the heads of the European Union Twinning Project, emphasising the importance of the expert support provided and the capacity-building programmes implemented within the scope of the Project.
Karen Karapetyan emphasised that the fight against corruption is one of the overriding priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia that is reflected in the Programme of the Government, in the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2019-2022, as well as in the new Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2023-2026.
The Deputy Minister mentioned that co-operation within the scope of the Project has helped to foster integrity and prevent corruption in the public sector of the Republic of Armenia, particularly by supporting implementation of the Actions stated in the Anti-Corruption Strategy, carrying out educational programmes and holding public awareness events in the anti-corruption sector (integrity), and building institutional capacities to create an environment for corruption prevention, as well as expanding the capacities of the Department of Anti-Corruption Policy Development and Monitoring of the Ministry of Justice and the Corruption Prevention Commission.
High-ranking guests from EU member states implementing the Programme and the Delegation of the European Union, including Head of Cooperation Section at the EU Delegation Frank Hess, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of the Interior and Community of Germany Johann Saathoff, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia Erik Tintrup, Germany's EU Twinning Project Leader Ingo Sorgatz, officials from Latvia, as well as other representatives from international organisations, diplomatic missions and state bodies of the Republic of Armenia participated in the event.
