Armenia and Lithuania to sign Memorandum of Co-operation in personal data protection sector

Head of the Personal Data Protection Agency Grigor Nersisyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Andrius Pulokas.

The parties agreed to organise the process of concluding a Memorandum of Co-operation between the authorised bodies of the Republic of Armenia and of the Republic of Lithuania for personal data protection.

During the meeting, Grigor Nersisyan introduced to the Ambassador the current state of personal data protection in Armenia, as well as presented the structure and powers of the Agency as the authorised body for personal data protection and the work that has been done. Grigor Nersisyan emphasised that the Agency actively co-operates with a number of regional and international organisations and presented the programmes that the Agency has implemented and is currently implementing with the mentioned organisations.

Andrius Pulokas expressed gratitude for the meeting and highlighted the similarities between the two countries in terms of the achievements made in the personal data protection sector. The parties also considered the opportunities for bilateral co-operation and the prospects for implementation of joint programmes.
