Course of implementation of the 2023-2025 Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection discussed during session of Co-ordinating Council

The regular session of the Co-ordinating Council for implementation of the 2023-2025 Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan. Greeting the attendees, the Deputy Minister thanked the representatives of state bodies and civil society organisations for participating in the session of the Co-ordinating Council and presented the purpose and agenda for holding the session. The Deputy Minister mentioned that by the decision adopted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, a new chapter has been added to the Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection; the chapter is devoted to the protection of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and will provide the Government with the opportunity to continue addressing the issues on the exercise and protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons in a co-ordinated manner. The course of activities completed in the first semester of 2024 was discussed during the session. Representatives of the Ministry of Justice and other state bodies touched upon the specifics of implementation of the actions related to each government agency. Representatives of non-governmental organisations, who are members of the Co-ordinating Council, made recommendations for implementation of the Action Plan and possible betterment of monitoring activities. The event was organised within the scope of the Resilience for All project, which is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and is being implemented through the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
