Re-socialisation of minors, regulation of activities with children during investigative actions — Levon Balyan chairs inter-agency session of the Council for Juvenile Justice

Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan delivered opening remarks at the inter-agency session of the Council for Juvenile Justice, attaching importance to the protection of juveniles’ rights and constantly keeping them in focus. Issues of violence against children, re-socialisation, as well as regulation of activities with children during investigative actions were discussed during the meeting.

Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Tatevik Stepanyan; Co-ordinator of the UNICEF Juvenile Justice Programme in Armenia Victoria Ohanyan and Acting Director of the “Centre for Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programmes" Susanna Makyan also delivered speeches. In order to discuss the aforementioned issues, as well as to plan the upcoming steps, the participants shared their views and made recommendations.

The inter-agency session of the Council for Juvenile Justice was held with the “Centre for Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programmes” SNCO (acting as Secretariat) and in co-operation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
