Motion filed by Minister of Justice granted — Supreme Judicial Council terminates powers of Judge Artur Stepanyan

The motion filed by the Minister of Justice to resolve the issue of subjecting judge of the Civil Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan Artur Stepanyan to disciplinary liability has been granted. As a result of the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council rendered on 9 July 2024, the powers of Judge Artur Stepanyan have been terminated. The initiated proceedings and the filed motion were based on violations of the norms of procedural law committed by the judge, which also led to a violation of the Rules of Conduct of judges. In particular, the relevant judicial acts adopted by the Court within the scope of more than 80 court cases were posted on www.datalex.am judicial information system and/or provided to persons involved in the case with a delay of 11 months to more than 3 years after the time limits established by law.
