Motion filed by Minister of Justice granted — Supreme Judicial Council terminates powers of Judge Anna Danibekyan

The motion filed by the Minister of Justice to resolve the issue of subjecting judge of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan Anna Danibekyan to disciplinary liability has been granted. As a result of the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council rendered on 16 July 2024, the powers of Judge Anna Danibekyan have been terminated. The initiated proceedings and the filed motion were based on violations of the Rules of Conduct of the judge, committed with gross negligence, as a result of which the accused-on-trial, including the second President Robert Kocharyan, were exempt from liability on the ground of expiration of the statute of limitations of the criminal offence.
