New regulation for encouraging compulsory enforcement officers — Levon Balyan presents new draft Law

01/10/2024

In the National Assembly, Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan presented the amendments and supplements to the draft Law "On the Compulsory Enforcement Service".

Levon Balyan noted that, according to the draft Law, the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for each subsequent year will provide for an additional bonus fund for the Compulsory Enforcement Service, the conditions for the formation of which, the procedure for calculating and determining the maximum amount allocated will be established by the Government.

The Deputy Minister informed that starting from September 2022, a pilot bonus programme has been implemented by the Service for about two years, leading to essential improvements in the operation of the Service. As a result of implementation of the pilot programme, a need has emerged to establish a legal mechanism for attracting additional financial resources for bonuses. It is expected that the adoption of the Draft will encourage compulsory enforcement officers to exercise the powers prescribed by law more effectively.
