04/10/2024

Within the scope of the nationwide whistle-blowing campaign, the Ministry of Justice has launched the "Whistle-blow, Armenia" programme, which is being implemented with the financial support of the USAID Armenia Integrity Project and the "Armenian Lawyers' Association" NGO.
During the event devoted to the launch of the programme, Advisor to the Minister of Justice Liana Tovmasyan emphasised the crucial role of the institution of whistle-blowing as a tool for combating corruption and the public’s proactive response to corruption phenomena. It should be mentioned that awareness-raising training events have already been conducted for representatives of local self-government bodies across all marzes of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan (administrations of marzpetarans (regional governors’ offices) and municipalities of the Republic of Armenia, as well as those responsible for whistle-blowing), engaging over 300 participants. Actions related to the institution of whistle-blowing under the Anti-Corruption Strategy and the upcoming legislative reforms were also presented during the meeting. Under the programme to be launched, it is planned to conduct training for over 600 students, pupils, teachers, representatives of the private sector and local self-government bodies from 4 marzes of Armenia, concurrently conducting various awareness-raising and educational events in Yerevan and the marzes.
Representatives of the "Armenian Lawyers' Association" NGO, which is implementing the programme, noted that the aim of the programme is to raise public awareness about the whistle-blowing system, the actions aimed at changing the perception of various groups of society about the system and increasing digital knowledge about the use of the unified whistle-blowing platform.
