The fourth training course on the qualification of mediators was conducted in co-operation with the Ministry of Justice, the United Nations Development Programme, the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan and the European Union. The aim of the training course was to engage mediators from different marzes of Armenia.
Out of the more than 120 contenders having submitted applications for participation, 31 were given the opportunity to attend the 33 academic hour course designed by the international expert-mediators. In order to make the course more helpful, the invited international and national experts shared their valuable experience in the mediation sector and provided insights on the new legislative regulation.
Director of the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice Tigran Dadunts expressed gratitude to the colleagues for helping to organise this important course, noting that there is growing interest in mediation and that solid foundations are being laid for the development of mediation and the introduction of compulsory mediation in Armenia.
Thanks to the ongoing courses and reforms, in the first semester of 2025, the community of mediators will have around 130 mediators.
"This event was partially funded by the joint project of the European Union and Council of Europe "Partnership for Good Governance", which is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and is being implemented by the Council of Europe."
