During the session of the National Assembly, in the first reading, Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan submitted the package of the draft Law "On making supplements to the Law "On the Corruption Prevention Commission"” and related laws.
It is proposed to extend the functions of the Corruption Prevention Commission to the heads of investigative bodies and their respective deputies, namely, the Anti-Corruption and Investigative Committees. The authority to monitor compliance with the Code of Conduct for the said officials of investigative bodies and the regulations for conflict of interest — as provided for by the Law for persons holding other public positions — will be reserved for the Commission.
Armenuhi Harutyunyan mentioned that the package of amendments was proposed in order to adopt a unified approach and ensure the predictability of regulations, as well as the uniformity of their application.
The Deputy Minister of Justice also answered questions from the Deputies of the National Assembly.
