Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan today received delegation of Good Governance Foundation
The meeting was attended by Programme Director Christine Marsh, Economic Affairs Adviser Ajay Sharma and Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser Kathleen Latimer. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth also attended the meeting.

The delegation was comprised of Professor Pere Vilanova Trias, Pierre Garon from the Venice Commission, as well as Alexey Gromov and Vasil Vashchanka from the OSCE/ODIHR.
Regular session of Public Council adjunct to Minister of Justice was held
Davit Harutyunyan greeted the participants of the session, attached importance to the items included in the agenda and suggested that the members of the Council hold a constructive discussion.
Minister of Justice receives newly-appointed Ambassador of France to Armenia
The Minister congratulated the Ambassador of the friendly country on assuming the office and expressed conviction that he would also continue to enhance the multi-polar co-operation of the two countries that is laid on strong foundations.
Probation officers undergo training
Greeting the participants, Head of the State Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Navasardyan and Director of the SNCO Ashot Hayrapetyan attached importance to the organisation of such trainings, expressing hope that they would be ongoing and that, as a result, the employees having undergone training and having acquired skills would apply those skills in their work in the future.

Deputy Minister Krmoyan introduces at the United Nations success recorded by Armenia in anti-corruption field
In his speech made on November 7, Suren Krmoyan touched upon the recent initiatives carried out in the anti-corruption field, placing special emphasis on bringing the legislation of the Republic of Armenia into compliance with the requirements of the Convention against Corruption.
Process of judicial and legal reforms and anti-corruption activities introduced to Co-Rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee
During the meeting, the Co-Rapporteurs inquired about the activities being carried out in the legal sector following the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the reforms in the judiciary and the activities aimed at the fight against corruption.
"Promoting Resocialization of Juveniles/Youth in Conflict with Law" Programme launched
Greeting the attendees, Suren Krmoyan attached importance to such involvement of the public sector in the difficult activities for reintegration of persons having committed a crime. The Deputy Minister added that the component of resocialisation is emphasised in the state policy on criminal justice so that persons having committed a crime are reintegrated into society and the cases of recidivism are reduced. Summing up, Suren Krmoyan expressed hope that it would be possible to talk about the results of the programme a year later.
Observation group for public oversight holds annual reporting discussion
Greeting the participants of the discussion, Suren Krmoyan emphasised that, with the creation of the observation group for public oversight over penitentiary institutions, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia introduced within penitentiary institutions an effective mechanism for human rights protection in order to assess the results of the performed activities and identify the current problems.
Workshop aimed at improving judicial and penitentiary systems held
Judges, experts having arrived from the EU member states, representatives of international organisations and civil society have participated in the practical discussion.
Justice Minister hosts delegation led by Council of Europe Head of Political Affairs Directorate
During the meeting the Minister touched upon the constitutional laws adopted following the amendments to the Constitution and as regards the activities of their elaboration, he attached importance to the active co-operation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia with the Venice Commission.
