On 19 October a sitting of the Public Council adjunct to the Minister of Justice was held — chaired by Arpine Hovhannisyan, RA Minister of Justice — in which representatives from more than twenty NGOs took part.

Today Arpine Hovhannisyan, RA Minister of Justice received the delegation of the World Bank. The Minister of Justice highly appreciated the mutual co-operation achieved with the World Bank and highlighted the successful progress of implementation of the programmes carried out with the support of the WB.

On 15 October 2015 the judgment in the case of Perinçek v. Switzerland was delivered. Intervening as a third party, the RA anticipated formulations that could cast doubt on the reality of the Armenian Genocide to be excluded from the European Court’s judgment. In the judgment delivered today, the Court noted that it was not to determine whether the massacres and mass deportations suffered by the Armenian people could be characterised as genocide.
