On 16 December, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan participated in the first sitting of the Council for Juvenile Justice. The Council was established within the scope of "Improving Access to Justice for Children in Armenia" Programme, which is carried out by the Ministry of Justice and the UNICEF.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited "Armavir" Penitentiary Institution, where four new auxiliary buildings designed for 800 convicts of the Penitentiary Institution were put into operation today. Accompanied by those responsible for the sector, deputies of the National Assembly, Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union Piotr Switalski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia Richard Mills and the representatives of other international organisations, Hovik Abrahamyan toured the newly built auxiliary buildings and got acquainted with the work carried out and the conditions of Penitentiary Institution built in compliance with international standards.

On 17 and 18 October a workshop on Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights was held in Aghveran. The aim of the workshop was to improve the professional knowledge of the Staff of the RA Government Authorised Representative before the European Court of Human Rights with respect to the peculiarities of application of Article 2 of the European Convention.
