List of countries ensuring adequate level of protection of personal data established
The Personal Data Protection Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has established a list of the countries ensuring adequate level of protection of personal data. The list includes 50 states. The personal data may be transferred to a country included in the list without permission of the Agency.
Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Armenia
On 17 February, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Armenia Arja Makkonen. The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and attached importance to the co-operation existing between the two countries in the legal sector.

Documents of NGOs having submitted applications to be included within composition of Anti-Corruption Council examined
The commission established upon the order of the Minister of Justice, under the chairmanship of chairperson of the commission, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan, examined the documents of 9 NGOs having submitted applications to be included in the Council and decided to provide the organisations having submitted incomplete documents with an opportunity to correct those documents within two working days.
Reports on activities of the Ministries of Justice, Diaspora, Finance and Foreign Affairs and the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia summed up
Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan reported that, in the course of the previous year, 150 draft legal acts, including draft legal acts on the Human Rights Defender, political parties, local self-government bodies, NGOs, draft legal acts of anti-corruption nature and other draft legal acts had been developed. The draft laws "On making amendments and supplements to the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia" and "On making amendments and supplements to the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia", by which it is envisaged to bring private legal relations into line with modern approaches, have been submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Draft Action Plan of the 2017-2019 HRP Strategy considered with non-governmental organisations
On 3 February, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia considered with the representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organisations of the Republic of Armenia the draft Action Plan of the 2017-2019 National Strategy on Human Rights Protection.

The purpose of the Guide is to ensure an integrated interpretation of legislation on personal data protection, to raise awareness of children, parents and data processors about their rights and responsibilities and to increase the level of protection of personal data of children.
Minister of Justice suspends activity of a notary public
Upon the order of Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan, the notary public of "Gavar" notarial district has been subjected to disciplinary liability, and a disciplinary penalty in the form of suspension of activity for a term of four months has been imposed on the notarial district.
The Personal Data Protection Agency sums up the second year of activities
The main activities of the Agency for the year 2016 were aimed at solving the main sector-specific issues, i.e. protection of personal data of minors, implementation of video surveillance, as well as undesirable messages. The challenges in the sphere of personal data protection also included the functioning of law and increase in the level of public awareness.
