During the first five months of 2019, 10.490 individual entrepreneurs were registered in the Agency for State Register of Legal Entities of the Ministry of Justice; this is 2.915 more as compared to the same period of the previous year.

During the first five months of 2019, 6.097 marriages were registered by the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency of the Ministry of Justice; this is 521 more as compared to the same period of 2018.

Convicts with life sentence participate in chess tournament
Today, on 11 June, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, the Penitentiary Service and the Chess Federation of Armenia organised a regular event (blitz chess tournament) for re-socialisation of convicts at "Nubarashen" Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, and the tournament was well-received among convicts, who were very excited.

Ministry of Justice and European Union deepening co-operation
Today, the "Support to judicial and legal reforms in Armenia" Technical Assistance Project, funded by the European Union, was launched under the direction of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan. The purpose of the Project is to support the EU-Armenia political dialogue in the justice sector and to assist in the development for future assistance of the EU in the justice sector.

On 30 May, Deputy Minister of Justice Tigran Khachikyan participated in a round-table discussion on the topic of "Perception of probation and the issues of early conditional release in Armenia". Head of the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice Arsen Navasardyan, Director of Civil Society Institute NGO, Chairperson of the Board of the “Support to Probation” National Network Artak Kirakosyan, Director of Social Justice NGO, member of the Network Arshak Gasparyan, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice and civil society representatives also participated in the discussion.
CoE supports judiciary reforms in Armenia: Minister of Justice meets with representatives of high-level CoE delegation
Today, Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan received the high-level delegation headed by Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Christos Giakoumopoulos. The members of the delegation were Secretary of the Venice Commission Thomas Markert, Head of Department of Justice and Legal Co-operation Hanne Juncher, Executive Secretary of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) Gianluca Esposito, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Armenia Natalia Vutova and political consultant, representative of the Directorate for Political Affairs Maxim Longang. Deputy Ministers Vigen Kocharyan and Anna Vardapetyan also participated in the meeting.
