Woman convicts acquired professional skills in penitentiary institution
On 7 February, the Award Ceremony of Certificates on professional skills of woman convicts took place in "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institution. Classes in the English language, computer, fitness, yoga, hairdressing, cooking were provided for more than twenty woman convicts by Civil Society Institute NGO within the scope of “Abovyan Prison: Establishing a Culture of Transparency, Efficiency and Rehabilitation” Project funded by U.S. Embassy. During the computer classes, woman convicts were also engaged in the activities of digitising books.
Draft Law "On making amendments and supplements to the Administrative Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia" and related draft laws discussed
On 4 February, a discussion of draft Law "On making amendments and supplements to the Administrative Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia" and related draft laws took place with the participation of First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Artur Hovhannisyan, which was organised by the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Taking into consideration public interest in pardon petitions, we would like to inform that the Ministry of Justice has, as and within the time limits prescribed by law, received from the Staff to the President of the Republic of Armenia the decrees on pardon petitions, which will be submitted to the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia for the purpose of informing convicts and ensuring execution of those pardon petitions.
