2017-2021 Institutional Development Strategy of the authorised body for protection of personal data
Greeting the attendees, Suren Krmoyan attached importance to discussions held in such a format and emphasised that the protection of personal data is in the centre of attention of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. According to Suren Krmoyan, by adopting a new law, the Government has demonstrated political will to regulate this sector.

According to Davit Harutyunyan, reputable international organisations play an important role in succeeding in the fight against corruption. In this regard, the Minister attached importance to the co-operation with the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) of the Council of Europe and noted that it serves as an additional stimulus in terms of ongoing reforms in the anti-corruption field and in terms of bringing the legislation into compliance with international standards.

The goal of the website www.e-hotline.am is also to improve the quality of services provided by the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and provide solutions to sector-specific issues.
Minister of Justice and OSCE/ODIHR Director discuss a number of issues to make co-operation more effective
The Minister highly appreciated the current level of co-operation between Armenia and the OSCE/ODIHR and considered it to be effective. Minister Harutyunyan noted that Mrs. Gísladóttir is in Armenia in a very important period when Armenia is trying to make a smooth transition to parliamentary governance by making extensive amendments to the legislation following the constitutional reforms. In this context, the Minister attached importance to the recommendations received from the ODIHR for improvement of several draft constitutional laws.
Session of Co-ordinating Council for 2017-2019 Action Plan of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights was held
During the session, Deputy Minister of Justice Vigen Kocharyan introduced the past and current activities of the Ministry of Justice prescribed by the 2017-2019 Action Plan of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights. Accordingly, the activities for introduction of a system of exchange of information with regard to birth registration with the bodies of the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency have been completed. The relevant draft decision of the Government envisages the introduction of the possibility of a video call for persons deprived of liberty in order to exercise their right to communicate with the external world.
Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan today received delegation of Good Governance Foundation
The meeting was attended by Programme Director Christine Marsh, Economic Affairs Adviser Ajay Sharma and Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser Kathleen Latimer. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth also attended the meeting.
